(3) This spreadsheet will calculate performance for non-standard tool joint material yield strengths which may not be acceptable/applicable to some or all applications.
(2) The make-up torque of a tool joint is based on the lower of 60% of the tool joint torsional yield strength or the T3 value calculated per the equation in paragraph A.8.3 of API RP7G.
Notes: (1) Torsional yield strength of double-shoulder tool joints (HT, XT, GPDS) is calculated per a modified form of the equation described in paragraph A.8.1 of API RP7G that takes into consideration the contributions of the secondary shoulder.
