Occasionally, we receive inquires for connection
known as "GST" or "GST Streamline." This is to clarify the position
of Grant Prideco in producing GST threads.
In January 1964, Atlas Bradford sold the "Streamline" design to Gulf
States Tube Corporation. Atlas Bradford reserved the rights to:
Manufacture, use, and sell "Streamline" threaded connections on subs
and pup joints.
Manufacture, use, and sell connections of a similar design, as covered
under the patent, but not connections exactly identical to "Streamline."
Therefore, we cannot offer "GST" or "GST Streamline" except on subs
and pup joints. We can offer "Slim Seal IJ" which is a look-alike
connection that is interchangeable with "Streamline" on both accessories
and full length joints.
In the past Grant Prideco has been requested to issue written certification
that we are authorized to produce "Streamline." Technically, Grant
Prideco can not, except for Subs and pup joints as explained above.
