Atlas Bradford's new threaded and coupled premium
connection for casing and tubing, TC-II, was originally designed in
1992. Since then several versions of TC-II have been developed to
meet the requirements of specific customers and applications. The
various versions of TC-II are specified by the following designations:
| TC-II |
Standard product without the
optional seal ring. This is the product used by most customers
for most applications. |
| TC-II/A |
Product with special features
and inspection requirements as specified by Mobil without the
optional seal ring. |
| TC-II/B |
Product with special features
and inspection requirements as required by Shell without the
optional seal ring. |
| -SR |
Suffix denotes the addition
of the optional seal ring. This may be applied to any TC-II
product, TC-II-SR, TC-II/A-SR, etc. |
| -SC |
Suffix denotes special clearance
coupling. This may be applied to any TC-II product, TC-II-SC,
TC-II/A-SR-SC, etc. |
All of the above products are functionally interchangeable, i.e. -
they will make up together. There may be a slight mismatch of the
pin and coupling bored ID for some sizes between the standard product
and the /A and /B versions. All products are not acceptable by all
customers due to inspection requirements.
| -HW |
Suffix designated a product
designed for heavy wall pipe without the optional seal ring.
TC-II-HW designs are unique for each pipe size and weight. They
are not interchangeable. |
| -HFR[number] |
A special product designed for
riser applications, high fatigue resistant, without the optional
seal ring. Riser connections are usually site specific designs.
Various designs will be designated with sequential numbers,
TC-II-HFR1, TC-II/B-HFR2, etc. TC-II-HFR designs are unique
for each pipe size and weight. They are not interchangeable. |
