DWC was designed to overcome the casing drilling loads that are typically seen, including cyclical torsional loads and fatigue, while remaining economical.
The DWC family consists of many different designs and options. DWC/C is a coupled design that is the most common of the designs. DWC/DS is an integral design that is on heavy walled casing and incorporates a double shoulder. This connection is typically used in the lower section of the string where your peak stresses are the largest. DWC/U is an integral design that is threaded on casing that has an upset on the box end only.
