LANDING NIPPLES

LANDING NIPPLES are devices which are integral parts of the tubing string. They are manufactured with internal profiles which provide predetermined locations in the tubing string where downhole control devices can be landed and retrieved by wireline or coiled tubing.

All Tube-AlloyTM landing nipples meet the requirements of API specifications 14A and Q1.

Tube-Alloy landing nipples are designed to accept industry standard locking devices of major manufacturers. Finite element analyses are available to confirm this compatibility.

The following types of landing nipples are available from Tube-Alloy:

  • SWSTM -
  • (standard weight selective)

  • SWN® -
  • (standard weight no-go)

  • HWSTM -
  • (heavy weight selective)

  • HWNTM -
  • (heavy weight no-go)

  • S -
  • (position nipples)

  • N -
  • (no-go nipples)

    To order please specify
    • Tubing size, weight, grade and thread
    • Packing bore diameter
    • Type nipple profile desired, and position # (if S)
    • Landing nipple thread configuration (pin/pin or box/pin)
    • Well conditions (setting depth, BHP, BHT, well deviation and fluid description)
CAUTION: Tube-Alloy does not recommend the use of any S position landing nipple below an RIV sliding nipple.
