oilfield services industry. A Supply Chain is the linkage of inter-dependent
organizations and processes that accomplish the objective of meeting
our customer requirements.
The links in our Supply Chain include: our Customer,
Sales/Order Entry, Production Planning, Requisitioning, Procurement,
our Suppliers, Inbound Transportation, Receiving, Warehousing, Manufacturing,
Shipping, Outbound Transportation and back to our Customer again.
Each link is critical to success and the management of the Supply
Chain is significant to the profitability of our organization.
As a corporate department within Grant Prideco,
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is tasked with the management of the
Grant Prideco Supply Chain, so that we can assure our facilities
receive the material ordered for the manufacturing process and the
finished goods are delivered to the Customer, as they required.
SCM will implement and manage the relationships
with our Supply Chain partners, including the management of Corporate
Contracts, Strategic Commodities, and Logistics. We will also utilize
the procurement tools and technologies available to insure effective
and efficient operation of our Supply Chain. The individual Grant
Prideco Divisions will then utilize these corporate contracts and
procurement technologies to process their procurement and logistics
requirements.
